As a Motorsport Mechanic, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and optimal performance of our racing vehicles. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining, repairing, and fine-tuning our cutting-edge race cars to deliver peak performance on the track. Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance of race cars to ensure their reliability and adherence to safety standards.
- Repairs and Upgrades: Execute prompt and accurate repairs on race cars after each race or testing session, identifying and addressing any mechanical issues promptly. Implement performance upgrades and modifications as directed by the engineering team.
- Race Preparation: Prepare race cars for events, ensuring they are in optimal condition, including setup adjustments, tire changes, and fuelling.
- Data Analysis: Work collaboratively with the engineering team to analyse data from testing sessions and races, providing valuable feedback for performance improvements.
- Pit Crew Support: During races, be an essential part of the pit crew, assisting with quick and precise mechanical interventions and helping to minimize downtime.
- Parts Management: Oversee inventory and procurement of spare parts, ensuring a well-stocked and organized supply for quick repairs and maintenance.
- Innovation and Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in motorsport technology and contribute to the research and development of innovative solutions for enhancing vehicle performance.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineers, drivers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, share insights, and maintain a cohesive team dynamic.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards during vehicle maintenance and race events.
Requirements:
- Education: College degree
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a professional mechanic, preferably in motorsport or high-performance automotive environments.
- Automotive Knowledge: In-depth understanding of race car mechanics, vehicle dynamics, and motorsport technologies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues swiftly and efficiently.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of handling physically demanding tasks and working long hours during race weekends.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest quality of workmanship.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, handle pressure during races, and respond to unforeseen challenges effectively.
